Grilled Mackerel with Cumin

Serves 4 

4 Good Taste Food Cornish Gold Mackerel with heads removed

Half teaspoon arrissa mixed with 3 tablespoons water

3 tablespoons oil

2 garlic cloves, crushed

2 teaspoons ground cumin

salt

1 lemon, quartered

 

The arrissa in this recipe is a spicy paste, made from red chilli peppers and garlic, seasoned with coriander, caraway and salt. If unavailable, substitute with cayenne pepper or paprika.

  1. Make 2 diagonal cuts in each side of each fish. Put the arrissa into a large shallow bowl with the oil, garlic, cumin and salt.

  2. Mix together well and marinate the mackerel in it for 15 minutes.

  3. Grill the fish for 7-8 minutes on each side, either on a barbeque or under a preheated grill

  4. Serve hot with the lemon
